THREE-SESSION SUNDAY NIGHT DISCUSSION GROUP ON BEAUTY AND TRANSCENDENCE

In the Fall 2014 semester, the Florovsky Society will sponsor a series of talks devoted to the inexhaustible topic of beauty and transcendence by means of looking at the ideas of three masters of Hellenic thought – Plotinus, Maximos the Confessor, and Heidegger. Each of the three conversations will be briefly introduced by Arkadi Choufrine (Princeton) and Cornelia Tsakiridou (La Salle University), after which the discussion will be open to all participants. To get the most out of this rich material, we encourage each participant to read a small selection of texts, which should be distributed over email.
